The Science of Laughter

"A day without laughter is a day wasted." We laugh because we feel relaxed and friendly towards other people.

Laughing is good for the brain and it also combats depression; which is good for us teens. We usually experience extreme roller coaster of emotions and sometimes, this laugh can define many things like being sarcastic, being upbeat, or hiding emotional pain.

The senses of relief, superiority, or something inappropriate, epic or weird, are the some of the reasons why people often laugh. We have one world to live in, yet there's a giant bowl of culture in it. These cultures show different ideas of humor; what's funny in one culture might be unfunny, or even offensive to another.

Most of our brain is involved in 'getting' a joke. The left side of the brain analyses the language of the joke. The frontal part, which is associated with emotions is also active, and the right side of the brain makes the connection that finally 'gets' it.

"People who have higher IQ's (or intelligence) tend to have higher standards of humor and lower EQ's." Uberfact says. This makes happiness rare to intelligent people.

You'll know a person's laugh is genuine through his eyes. Once its eyes shows wrinkles, or even gummy smile, the happiness of a person is true.

"When a person laughs even in smallest things, that person is lonely deep inside." Psychology says. I see "laughing" this way; laughing determines the strength of a person in facing difficulties and loneliness in life. One laugh can change other people's perspective. The world is full of lonely people; maybe you're the one who's needed to cheer it up.

Let the whole world hear your laugh! :)
